Tri-Lakes UMC is seeking part-time nursery workers to care for our children ages 6 weeks-four years.

Qualifications:

  • Must love God and love children
  • Must be kind, patient, and extremely reliable
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Must be available Sunday mornings (9:15-10:45), occasional Sunday and weekday evenings. 
Must be willing to complete and maintain First Aid/CPR certification
Salary: $12/hour

Choir Director

 

Choir Director

 

Description 

Recruit, rehearse and direct the TLUMC Adult Choir in performing anthems at the 11:00am weekly traditional worship service during the school year and for special services throughout the church year. Supervise the Accompanist and select music for the Adult Choir.  Execute other duties as assigned.

 

Responsibilities
  • Participate with the Accompanist and the Pastor in planning for worship each Sunday and for special services such as Christmas Eve, Lenten series and Easter including hymns and special music that support the theme for the day
  • Lead choir practices, ensuring the choir is well-rehearsed and the music is of the finest quality
  • Collaborate on combined musical and vocal performances with other groups (Brass Quintet, Children’s choir, handbell choir)
  • Collaborate with the Contemporary Worship Director to offer a blended worship experience twice a year
  • Plan, organize, prepare and lead the choir in service music and anthems 
  • Recruit and schedule special accompaniment and/or replacement music, i.e. soloist, instrumentalist, groups, when the choir is not singing
  • Organize the music library, maintain and order music within the budget allocated for it
  • Actively recruit new choir members from the congregation and elsewhere
  • Produce at least one major presentation (cantata, etc.) every year
Position Work Hours/Week and Location

Part-Time, 10 hours per week (mid-Aug - May), salaried. The position allows flexibility to plan music selections and events from a remote location but requires choir practices and participation in Services from the church.

Basic Qualifications
  • Commitment to Christ and Church is fundamental; must be a professing Christian 
  • Commitment to maintain a regimen of spiritual disciplines to ensure growth as a disciple of Jesus Christ
  • Experience directing adult choirs required
  • Vocal proficiency and ability to lead vocal and musical artists
  • Formal or informal training in musical performance
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player and ability to recruit / train volunteers 
  • Good communication and public speaking skills; to include communicating in a timely manner via standard TLUMC tools, such as Slack and email
  • Creative approach to lead others in faithful worship through music

Director of Contemporary Worship and Media

Description 

Provide leadership for the adult Praise Band and music for the 9:30 am Contemporary service.  Produce and manage audio-visual media for all standard and special services and provide supervision of media volunteers throughout the year. Execute other duties as assigned.

 

Contemporary Worship
  • Be the upfront worship leader at 9:30 service along with the Praise Team
  • Plan music for 9:30 service in consultation with the Pastor
  • Conduct worship planning and coordination with Team and staff using Planning Center software
  • Conduct weekly rehearsals for Praise Team and recruit and train new members
  • Maintain church-owned instruments and sound equipment for the Praise Team
  • Meet monthly with the Pastor for coordination and planning
  • Be available for other musical opportunities within TLUMC as requested or desired
  • Collaborate with the Choir Director to offer a blended worship experience twice a year
Sunday Media
  • Lead, train and schedule TLUMC Sunday morning media teams (sound, video)
  • Supervise audio-visual team at all three Sunday morning services
  • Create slides for worship each Sunday using ProPresenter (for all three services)
  • Administer weekly live stream for all services
Position Work Hours/Week and Location

Part-Time, 20 hours per week, salaried. The position allows flexibility to plan and conduct media development and music planning remotely but requires Praise Band practices and participation in Services at the church.

  • Proficiency in Pro-Presenter and Planning Center software desired (will train if necessary)
