We always think of the Advent season as the journey toward Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus, but there's another Scripture story set in that little Judean town that actually makes the Christmas story possible. The Book of Ruth, which only takes up four chapters in the Bible, beautifully expresses the Advent themes of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love through a powerful story that moves from heartbreak to redemption and teaches us how to persevere and trust God in challenging times.
