New Member Class —This is a four week course we offer to initiate those new to TLUMC into our life and community.  We cover everything from the basics of the Faith to Spiritual Gifts.  The purpose is to help those who are considering making TLUMC their home understand their faith better and learn the dynamics of our particular expression of it. This is also the class that leads to formal membership in the church.

Jesus in the Wild

Lent Series and Study 2023

Series Description:

Shortly after his baptism in the Jordan River, Jesus was “led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil” (Matthew 4:1). The story of Jesus’ 40-day time of testing is one of the most unusual and misunderstood in the Gospel accounts. Alone with the very enemy he has come to destroy, Jesus faces three tests or “temptations” that are all aimed at calling him away from his identity, his belovedness, and his purpose as the Son of God.

In this Lenten sermon series, Pastor Bob Kaylor will lead us in exploring how Jesus faced down the accuser in the wild and offer some ways we can be equipped to address every demonic challenge that comes our way as we go through the own wild places and times in our lives.

Our companion book for the series is Dan Wilt’s Jesus in the Wild: Lessons on Calling for Life in the World. This daily devotional guide is perfect for individuals and small groups who want to gain a deeper sense of their vocation and calling in Christ. 

We encourage you to get your existing discipleship small group or Sunday School class together and use this book to guide your conversations!
