Welcome to Youth Ministry at Tri-Lakes!
Here at Tri-Lakes United Methodist Church, we understand that youth are not only the future of the Church; they are the Church here and now. As we walk alongside our students, our youth ministry is an inviting community that encourages belonging before believing, develops genuine disciples of Christ, and engages the culture around us through service. Students will find themselves welcomed, supported, and challenged.
Sunday School
7th – 12th Grade
Sunday School meets weekly at 9:30 a.m. downstairs in the youth room during the contemporary worship service.
This summer, we will work through several books of the Bible and explore questions of faith. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Scriptures and discuss the challenging questions we all wrestle with.
Youth Group
7th – 12th Grade
Youth Group meets weekly from 4 to 6 p.m. Each week, we build deeper relationships, play games, explore our faith through teaching and discussion, and share a meal. Youth Group is a great opportunity to visit Tri-Lakes UMC for the first time. Students are encouraged to welcome new faces and invite friends.
Confirmation
8th Grade +
Confirmation is offered every other year from January to May. This program is more than just a rite of passage.
-
Students explore the Christian faith in a way that encourages them to personalize and take ownership of their beliefs.
-
Confirmation sessions cover the meaning of the Christian faith, the history and teachings of The United Methodist Church, and the significance of baptismal and membership vows.
-
More than just learning information, the experience helps students understand how their faith tradition applies to everyday life.
Confirmation is open to all students in the 8th grade or above.
Mission Trips
Each summer, we offer mission trips and service projects. These trips are an opportunity to experience another culture, build unexpected and meaningful relationships, and serve God through putting our faith into action.
This year, our students will travel out of state for a 10-day mission trip to Detroit, MI, from June 20-29.
Retreats
Annual retreats allow us all to reconnect and build closer relationships with one another and God. These unforgettable weekends include a great balance of fun, rest, and time with God in the glory of creation!
We typically offer retreats in the fall and/or winter.
